What is Happening?
As a reminder, every Wednesday from 4:30pm until 6:00pm the Office of Information Technology has a maintenance window where we can patch and reboot critical equipment. While we normally try to minimize the impact of this maintenance, there is the potential for downtime during this window. Today we do anticipate some downtime during this window as we upgrade critical network security appliances.
Technical Details
Due to the recent outages from our cloud provider, we have decided to standardize the software running on our various firewall security appliances. This will allow us to better ensure compatibility across our network and reduce the potential for preventable outages. Though the upgrade process is fairly simple, the reboot process takes several minutes and connectivity will be impacted.
